Under the direct supervision of area leadership, the multi skilled tech advanced serves as a multi-functional member of the patient care team. Supports staff through regularly organizing and facilitating two or more functional roles of the patient care plan which may include the following: Basic patient care activities and unit secretary functions.

·Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
·Interacts professionally with patients/families; treats patients and their families with respect and dignity. Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual needs of patients and their families.
·Effectively and appropriately communicate with patients, physicians, family members and co-workers, demonstrating customer service excellence through application of positive language principles, appropriate response and use of constructive problem-solving techniques which foster positive outcomes.
·Performs unit secretary clerical duties.
·Performs basic patient care activities as delegated, within scope of practice
·Assist in the provision of patient care through performing 12 lead Electrocardiogram (EKG) studies
·Obtains and prepares cultures, blood, and urine specimens for delivery to reference laboratory for processing, as required.
·Reports abnormal assessment findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to appropriate staff.
·Works with staff to ensure smooth patient flow.
·Provides physician/provider with assistance during special procedures and/or patient training.
·Performs waivered lab testing for routine procedures, as required.
·Provides patient education as requested by physician/provider.
·Applies principles of sterile techniques and infection control procedures.
·Consults other departments as appropriate to collaborate in patient care and performance improvement activities.
·Assists in orientation and training of new staff/students as necessary.
·Keeps current with principles and practices, regulations, and standards that apply to healthcare.
·Performs other reasonably related job duties as assigned or requested, within scope of practice.

Education:
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED), or equivalent, is required.
Certifications:
·American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within 90 days of hire or transfer.
Experience:
One (1) year patient care experience as a CNA, in a hospital setting, required
