Provides security services to ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation.
·Ensure only authorized staff are admitted onto hospital premises.
·Performsproactivemonitoringofandtimelyresponsestopotential/actualsecuritythreats.
·Investigates and manages all security incidents and hazards on the premises.
·Maintains knowledge of and follows policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency/disaster preparedness plans.
·Facilitates planned drills and simulations.
·Providesinformationandassistancetopatients, visitors and staff topromotetheirsafetyonthe premises.
·Providesavisibledeterrencetocrimeandprohibitedactivitiesbypatrollingthebuildingsandgroundsofthehospital.
·Writesaccurate,clearandlegibleincidentreportsanddocumentsinvestigatorystepsand results.
·Patrol parking areas to detect any irregularities.
·Able toaccurately,clearlyandlegibly document incidentreports, investigatorystepsand results; Documentation meets current standards and policies.
·Performs other reasonably related job duties as assigned or requested, within scope of practice.
Education:
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED), or equivalent, ispreferred
N/A
Certification in Non-Violent De-Escalation & Crisis Intervention Training, required within 90 days of hire or transfer.
·Requirements will include successful completion of orientation checklist and skills/credentials/competency requirements of specific area of work.
·Able to maintain a high awareness of teamwork.
·Demonstrates proficient time management skills.
·Able to respond to and cope with emergency situations professionally and calmly.
·Focused, patient and calm, performing well under pressure in a stressful environment and able to take appropriate action.
·Must be flexible, able to work as needed for appropriate departmental coverage.
·Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
·Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language necessary to perform the essential functions of this job, especially with regard to activities impacting patient or employee safety or security. Additional languages preferred.
One to three (1-3) years’ experience in the field of law enforcement and/or security management; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
