Under the direct supervision of a Radiologic Technologist, the Radiology Student performs a variety of imaging procedures.
To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
• Interacts professionally with patients/families; treats patients and their families with respect and dignity.
• Effectively and appropriately communicate with patients, physicians, family members and co-workers, demonstrating customer service excellence through application of positive language principles, appropriate response and use of constructive problem-solving techniques which foster positive outcomes.
• Delivers equipment and specimens to requested staff or department.
• Greets and provides information and direction to patients and visitors.
• Identifies patient by using two (2) accepted methods of identification.
• Transports patients, including any medical equipment, via wheelchair, stretcher or bed to designated sites as requested.
• Assists patients with entering and exiting vehicles, including transfer from or to wheelchairs or stretchers.
• Applies principles infection control procedures.
• Consults with other departments as appropriate to collaborate in patient care.
• Assists in orientation and training of new staff/students as necessary.
• Keeps current with principles and practices, regulations, and standards that apply to healthcare.
• Performs other reasonably related job duties as assigned or requested, within scope of practice.
• Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.

Required Certifications:
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within 90 days of hire or transfer.
• Certification in Non-Violent De-Escalation & Crisis Intervention Training, required within 90 days of hire or transfer.
• Patient Lift training, required within 90 days of hire or transfer.
