JOB SUMMARY
Under the guidance of the Nurse Residency Manager, performs nursing patient care duties for the assigned unit or department under the direction of a Clinical Coordinator and/or Nursing Unit Director. Participate in learning activities, classroom lectures, etc. provided through the St. Francis Nurse Residency Program. Plan,
provide, and evaluate total nursing care in accordance with the established patient care philosophy. Facilitate individualized, goal-directed nursing care through use of the nursing process and the principles of primary nursing in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures. Relate effectively with other
shifts for continuity of care, maintain satisfactory relations with other departments and nursing units; and participate in all phases of education.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Participates in the clinical evaluation and care of patients in a variety of patient care settings in order to achieve the competencies required by the residency program.
Communicates with the attending physician regarding the results of evaluations, physical examinations, interpretation of diagnostic tests, and intended/performed interventions.
Participates in research programs and educational presentations as required by residency program.
Works effectively in various healthcare delivery settings and systems relevant to clinical specialty.
Maintain and facilitate the standards of accurate and complete documentation and reporting.
