The LPN will provide services, timely and efficiently, at appropriate levels to all patients and in all settings served by the department. The LPN will also provide direct patient care by utilization of the nursing process in accordance with the established Department’s Policy and Procedure Manual and will assist in assigned administrative tasks and will maintain clinical competencies through participation in educational and orientation programs. The LPN will assist the physician with all procedures done in the office. The LPN will perform triage patient calls, process referrals, authorizations, schedule surgeries. Timely completion of Dashboard’s in EMR with thorough documentation of follow up. Good communication skills and computer skills are necessary as well as the ability to work with others as a team to ensure quality patient care.
Responsibilities:The LPN will provide all nursing care to all patients.This includes but is not limited to nursing assessment, re-assessment, follow-ups, consultations, side effect management, patient education, retrieval of reports and x-rays, provide wound care such as dressing changes, staple and suture removal, schedule ongoing care for patients such as, MRI’s, CT’s EMG’s Injections, Ultrasounds and any other special testing within 48 hours.Schedule & obtain preauthorization for surgeries and special testing. Record all patient allergies.Write appropriate surgery orders. Prepare charts in EMR for physician visits to include reviewing test results to insure they are in the EMR chart prior to the patients visit.Perform follow up calls to all surgery patients.Will promote teamwork and encourage others in the department and hospital.Adheres to infection control, emergency, safety, and disaster plans and polices.
Maintain all medical supplies.
Deal constructively with departmental change. Provide excellent customer service.
Work well with other departments & clearly verbalizes our departmental needs.
Notify the appropriate person(s) of concerns with patients or office procedures.
The department director on an as needed basis may assign other tasks.
Schedule patient appointments according to office policy.
Answers multiple phone lines promptly and politely and accurately documents messages.
Timely & accurately file office documents in the appropriate area.
Forward telephone calls appropriately and following up on return calls.
Measure and records at least 3 vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration on each patient. Provide basic patient care and treatments, such as dressing wounds, staple and suture removal.
Perform timely triage of each patient to include documentation of all appropriate information relating to the visit.
Assist in any and all procedures such as injections, wound care, dressing changes, and etc.
Timely & thorough completion of surgery packets following the outlined steps.
Work as part of a health care team to assess patient needs.
Plan and modify care and implement interventions.
Evaluates nursing intervention outcomes, confers with other health-care team members as necessary.
Provide timely scheduling & authorization of all outgoing referrals per office protocol.
Verify OR schedule to ensure all patients have been accounted for.
Excellent documentation of patient care, phone calls & any follow up work performed to complete a task.
Compliant documentation in the medical record.
Front desk check in & collection of balances as assigned.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:
LPN in the state of Oklahoma
Current- Basic Life Support (CPR) by end of week one orientation
EDUCATION:Graduate of an accredited LPN program or appropriate training
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:At least 6 months or greater
