Job Responsibilities
The LPN in OB provides direct patient care by utilization of the nursing process in accordance with the established policies and procedures of Southwestern Medical Center. Performs a variety of direct and indirect patient care duties within the scope of practice of a LPN according to the Oklahoma Nurse Practice Act. Participates in the planning, implementing, and evaluating of nursing care.
QualificationsLicensure/Certification Requirements:
·Licensed Practice Nurse License issued by the State of Oklahoma or as part of a compact.
·BLS
·NIH Stroke (and obtains by end of Clinical Nursing Orientation)
·AWHONN Basic Fetal Monitoring (or equivalent) Annually (and/or by end of Clinical Nursing Orientation)
·AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Biannually (and/or within 6 months of hire)
·Oklahoma Rights & Responsibilities Certificate (Medical Treatment Laws Information Act) every 2 years (and obtains by end of Clinical Nursing Orientation)
·Quality Indicators Testing Annually (and obtains within 6mo of hire)
Education/Experience:
·Graduate from an accredited nursing program
·Maintains education and development appropriate for position
