The work location for this position is Lewiston, Idaho

This is a PRN position (On-Call - No Benefits) - you will receive an additional 15% PRN pay in lieu of benefits

Hours:  8:00am - 4:30pm

Position Summary

Is responsible and accountable in the delivery of direct and indirect patient care.Promotes and maintains adaptive responses in individuals and groups with consideration of the integrated nature of person, individual value systems, and cultural differences.Utilizes the Roy Adaptation Model as the organizing framework for practice.Demonstrates a commitment to the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center Nursing Mission and Philosophy through practice and behaviors.Recognizes that acquisition and application of further knowledge and skill beyond basic competency will contribute to greater expertise within chosen areas of nursing practice.

Primary (Essential) Duties:

  • Uses nursing process to identify and coordinate patients, infant to geriatric patients, within the time provided while in the hospital.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of all imaging modalities and is proficient in the management of patient care in MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Computed Tomography, Diagnostic x-ray and Ultrasound. 
  • Able to appropriate communicate with patients of all ages and stages of development.  
  • Actively participates in radiation safety practice to minimize exposure to patient/visitor/staff.
  • Recognizes and takes appropriate action in response to potential and actual hazards specific to each imaging modality (i.e., ionizing radiation, magnetic field, radioisotopes).  
  • Familiar with current Evidence Based Practices.  
  • Collaborates with all members of the imaging department including technologists, transport aides, radiologists, manager/director, front line staff, etc.  Possesses and applies knowledge and psychomotor skills necessary to provide procedural patient care in each of the imaging modality settings.
  • Possess appropriate knowledge and skill to minimize exposure of ionizing radiation and other inherent risk factors to patients, visitors, staff and self.  
  • Recognizes the need of flexibility to respond to varying department needs to provide quality service to patients and families.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Nursing
  • Current licensed in the state of Idaho, or licensure eligible
  • Current BLS on first day or to be assigned by the Learning Center
  • ACLS - within 3-months of hire (to be assigned by the Learning Center)
  • Handle With Care - (to be assigned by the Learning Center)

  • Critical Care, Cath Lab, ER or Procedural/Moderate Sedation experience within the past two years
