Livingston Regional Hospital (LRH) is a 114-bed hospital providing a continuum of care covering all aspects of healthcare, from 24-hour emergency services to rehabilitative services on both an impatient and an outpatient basis, a Level II-A neonatal nursery, a 10-bed gero-psych unit and many other services. Under indirect supervision, provides rehabilitative and developmental therapy and support services for Rehabilitation Unit, Hospital, Geri-Psych, ICU and Outpatient clinic. Directs and educate patient participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance; facilitates the learning of skills and functions essential for adaptation and productivity, diminish or correct pathology and maintain health.
·Observes professional ethics in maintaining confidential information concerning the financial, personal, medical or employment status of patients/families at LRH.
·Must follow and enforce accepted safety practices for patients and hospital.
·Must report safety hazards and initiate appropriate action. Must participate in safety instructional programs.
·Evaluate patients for therapy and support needs.
·Plans, organizes, and conducts occupational therapy programs designed to help patients regain physical, mental functioning or to adjust to their disabilities.
·Treats, educates, and counsels patients and families as appropriate regarding specific physical, mental, and/or developmental disabilities.
·Develop treatment plans and goals.
·Implement treatment plans
·Fabricates and fits splints, braces, and other adaptive devices and trains patients on use, according to therapy program.
·Monitors patients progress throughout treatment; prepares and maintains records and reports as appropriate. Complete documentation with attention to confidentiality and legal requirements.
·Participate in team meetings.
·Provide training/learning opportunities as assigned to medical and nursing personnel in occupational therapy techniques and objectives.
·Participate in continuing education opportunities.
·Supervise employees.
·Maintain inventory.
·Maintain equipment by keeping it functional and clean. Repair tools and equipment as required.
·Performs safety, environmental and/or infection control methods.
·Maintain CPR Certification.
Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited Occupational Therapy Program
1 year of experience required
TN State Licensure to practice as an Occupational Therapist
