Serving approximately 100,000 people, PRMC provides 150 beds with a highly skilled staff of healthcare professionals. Coordinates, implements, and evaluates the organization's infection prevention and control program. Assist with the organization's employee health program where it relates to the Infection control program. Designs, implement, and directs the hospital-wide infection control program while working closely with employee health. Identifies infections that occurs in patients and staff that have the potential for disease transmission and recommends risk reduction practices by integrating sound epidemiological principles into all direct and indirect standards of practice. Provide education, consultation, and guidance to hospital staff, medical staff, patients, and families, and visitors. This job description is designed to indicate the general nature and level of work for this position. Qualifications
Required Licenses
[Texas, United States] Registered Nurse
Minimum Education: Graduate of accredited RN school
Minimum Experience: Prior experience as Infection Control Nurse in acute care setting required. Three years clinical experience required. Basic knowledge of infection control practices. Communication and problem solving skills required.
Required Certification/ Registration: Must be currently licensed in the state of Texas to practice as an RN.
Required Skills Ability to multi-task, organize, and remain courteous as a representative of the hospital. Flexibility in the constant reprioritization of activities is essential Ability to maintain confidentiality of personal information and sensitive situations which may arise in both the hospital environment and employee health Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills Demonstrates ability to work well with multiple persons from diverse backgrounds Demonstrates excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills, tact, and diplomacy Good organization skills; values follow through and attention to detail Must be detailed oriented, efficient, flexible, and proactive with the ability to multi-task Possess the ability to effect change among groups from various clinical and / or financial departments, coordinate / prioritize information and activities and problem solve. Possess a working knowledge of personal computers, Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point)
