Job Summary

  • The Respiratory Therapy Clinical Coordinator is responsible for overseeing clinical operations of the respiratory care department
  • Responsibilities include supervision of staff, ensuring quality care standards, and facilitating clinical activities
  • Collaborates with the interprofessional team and engages in performance improvement initiatives

Essential Functions

  • Coordinate and oversee daily operations of respiratory care department
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate respiratory care staff
  • Assist in developing policies and procedures to maintain quality standards
  • Collaborate with the interprofessional team to provide patient care
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical projects
  • Facilitate educational activities and continuing education for staff  

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Expectations

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and leadership abilities
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including electronic medical record (EMR) systems
  • Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory standards

Qualifications

Education

  • Minimum of Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy
  • Bachelor's degree preferred

Licenses/Certifications

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or equivalent required

Experience

  • Minimum of three years clinical experience in respiratory care
  • Supervisory or leadership experience in an acute care setting preferred
